
Despina D. Georggin is an Owner and Managing Partner of Georggin & Georggin. With nearly thirty years of experience in the legal profession, she brings thoughtful leadership, seasoned judgment, and a steady, client-focused approach to every matter she oversees.

Ms. Georggin guides the firm with a commitment to excellence, integrity, and highly personalized legal representation. Her practice spans a broad range of civil litigation matters, including business disputes, employment litigation, construction defect claims, catastrophic injury cases, personal injury, medical malpractice, professional negligence, and mediation. She is known for her careful preparation, strategic insight, and calm, confident advocacy, particularly in complex and high-stakes matters.

Before entering the legal profession, Ms. Georggin began her career in journalism, an experience that continues to inform her approach to advocacy. This background sharpened her ability to listen closely, identify the central narrative of a dispute, and communicate complex issues with clarity and purpose. These skills remain central to her work in litigation, negotiation, and trial preparation.

Ms. Georggin earned her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, with a minor in Political Science, from San Diego State University, and her Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law. She was admitted to the California State Bar in 1996. While in law school, she received the American Jurisprudence Award in Trial Practice and the American Jurisprudence Award in Mediation, distinctions reflecting both her courtroom skill and her aptitude for resolution.

Her professional involvement has included completion of the San Diego Inn of Court Program, service as Committee Chair of the People’s Law School for the Consumer Attorneys of San Diego, and guest lecturing at the University of California, San Diego Legal Nurse Consultant Extension Program. In addition, Ms. Georggin has supervised legal nurse consultant interns in the context of medical malpractice litigation, further demonstrating her commitment to mentorship and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Over the course of her career, Ms. Georggin has participated in numerous depositions, arbitrations, settlement conferences, and trials, and has developed extensive experience in law and motion practice and legal briefing.
